New York City report and gripes

NYCity was great. Hotel (Mayfair) was a 2 out of 10. Location was great. Spamalot was great - I loved seeing Tim Curry and it was very funny. Phantom of the Opera was beautifully done as well and I enjoyed it much more in english than in german. The weather was cold and rainy/cloudy yucky. We walked a lot and saw a lot more this time. I went to Alexis Bittar's store, Oilily, Dosa, a Swatch store (where the guy who was supposed to be getting something out for me just switched from helping me to helping someone else right in the middle so he loast a sale) and got a yummy, yummy cupcake next to the new Urban Outfitters across the street from Bloomies on 3rd. We took Amtrak to Providence, RI and toured RISD. What a neat school. My daughter pooped out on Sunday and didn't want to go out with me for a drink/dinner and I had (am having) a hard time not being pissed at her because I know my son would have gone with me. We ordered pizza online from Rays and had it delivered. The hotel was without hot water for the entire day of Sunday and it wasn't due to be fixed until after we checked out on Monday. At no time did the management offer to reduce the rate we paid. I don't think any hotel should let a heater go that long unrepaired and if they couldn't get a part until Monday, then they should have replaced the entire thing. As old as this hotel was, my money is on that they have been bandaiding the heater for awhile now and just are too cheap to replace it.

I am not feeling too understanding today. I am stressed about money. I'm tired of doing everything myself and having to be in charge of everything and I'm really glad my kids are going to be gone in November for a week or so even though they are going to have to go visit their father and I am using what little good sense I have not to write anything about him here. Suffice it to say it is a very acrimonious situation.

November resolutions - not just for new years anymore:
1) be on time for all appointments, tennis permanent court time, meetings, plane rides etc..
2) rediscover my tennis mojo - probably off with Andy Roddicks mojo having a good ol time. This will be accomplished by taking drills/skills, lessons with Judi, playing more etc.
3) the usual - lose weight and get in better shape. Just cause I quite FAC doesn't mean I can slack off.
4) sleep more.

I have no beer and no Baileys at home. This is in itself a TRAGEDY and must be remedied. It's 12:48 p.m and I'm hitting the wall. Need sleep. Need excitement.

Had the puppy monster, PD and Buster sleeping with me last night. Love to sleep with them, they keep me so nice and warm.

Am looking at places to stay in Las Vegas when I go for 3 nights in December.

Got eyelashes redone on Monday, they look fabulous, got hair done yesterday, it looks really, really cool. I have a kick-ass halloween hippy costume with new cheap ($49) white fake patent leather boots, purple fishnets, paisley mini dress, funky neon earrings, and a plethora of wigs from long blond and curly to pink bob to purple beehive.

Yippee! Girl geek meter going up!

I changed my html to put some of my favorite links on this blog! All by myself! Yippee!
(beats work I say). Please check them out! Know what is going on in the world, support my favorite artist (smootch), destroy corporate radio, ride a Stella - save some gas, and have a good fantasy game to amuse yourself with.

I am really looking forward to going to NYCity next Thursday. Fun, fun, fun! I have to look for the final touches to my 80's Halloween custom. I just wish I had saved more stuff. Plus, I really think that the way some of the teens these days dress is about how I dressed in the 80's. I remember wearing my black dress, my double wrap studded belt, lots of buttons (Clash, Elvis, Talking Heads, Blondie etc), having a root perm to make my hair stand up more on top (as well as having it dyed pink and blue and magenta), wearing bright color tights and the cutest little pair of low black boots that were kind of slouchy. My bestest friend at the time, Sue, and I used to get all dressed up and go shopping and drink in Burlington like that. I had a major, major crush on a guy named Brett H. who was a member of a local band, the Decentz. I was a groupie for the band, Pinhead (and believe me that is ALL I am going to say about that band or time). I had the best, best pink airforce like jumpsuit with all these nifty zippers. It seems like yesterday but it wasn't. I do still have a really cool old Esprit skirt that is purple and black punky stripe (almost zepra but cooler). Why don't you dance with me? I ain't no limburger...
I still LOVE the B52's...

Cross-referencing other site...myspace stuff..

cause it's all about me.. and I'm spacey and I have PMS and a gosh darned two handed AXE and I'm a level 20 (and almost a half) kick BUTT girrl warrior so don't mess with me today.

Ya know, Coldplay isn't half bad... Clocks - accoustic version. If Gwyneth and Chris have a boy will they name it after a fruit, state or something nice and old school - like Sam? What about the horrific future of the little scientologist the Kate (no more Katie) and Tom are hatching? I guess he has been using his "tool" more than he did when he was with Nicole or Mimi and not firing blanks either.

This is a test of html:

Check me out!

Stressed, tired and crabby.. I need a NAP!

I'm wacked today. Stayed up too late last night, didn't get enough sleep, I don't like the music I'm listening to - too mellow (Groove Armada - the remixes) - going right to the last song, which I do like - I see you baby (shaking that ass) and I don't even like this remix of it! Crapola.
Then I'm probably going to listen to GRLZ - women ahead of their time - which is a bunch of old really cool girl bands from the late 70's early 80's (slits, delta5, bow wow wow, new age steppers). *** I changed my mind. Upon looking through my drawers (not to be confused with knickers) I found a mix cd that I had made back in the day of grogster (free downloads/file "sharing") and put it in. The first song... was Move on Up (Curtis Mayfield but this version has been discofied/trendyfied) followed by Girlfriend in a Coma - the Smiths... followed by - I can't believe it.. Christina Aguilara - Beautiful remix.
Then I'm going to really hope my eternally "confused" coworker takes his break early so I can sleep at my desk. I have a headache and I want to bitch about everything (at this point, I can hear my daughter going "your mom" which is the punch line to about every joke there is these days).
On a funny note, when I end my WOW play I always get on top of a nice bed in a nice inn (I don't like the beds at Westfall) usually and preferrably next to my favorite night elf (sigh) and /sleep from there. Well, when I start my next session I "wake up" in the same bed and one day I logged on and there was this guy in bed with me. I whispered him, hey, I don't remember you being next to me... and his response was I don't either but I remember your mom. Which, I thought was pretty damn funny considering I am a mom! He was (if it was even a he but considering that not too many females play the game) probably as old as my son.

Travels with Ssheena - update on life and where are my pictures???

a) why aren't my pictures that I uploaded showing in this blog anymore? What is up with that??

b) Travels - LA, Californication - Hermosa Beach, Santa Monica and LAX and why I think Frontier is a kick ass airline!

c) New York City - ETA 10/20 in the afternoon/evening. Tickets for.... Phantom of the Opera (Kathi's show) AND Spamalot (my show), agenda - FLUFF bakery for homemade snowballs/twinkies and Kathi and I have discussed eating only ethnic food while we are there (ie, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Italien, Vietnamese, etc, etc..) returning back to beautiful Boulder on Monday, October 24.

d) Green Day concert on September 19, Pepsi Center - Billie Joe's voice is showing the wears and tears of a good year on the road but the concert still rocked. Many more people of age there this concert than the first one (like over 30 age people). We missed Jimmy Eat World as the opening act as we got there too late. However, on a side note, I have fond memories of driving home from the concert with 4 teenage girls (17 and 16 years of age) all of us singing at the top of our lungs, "Since you've been gone" by Kelly Clarkson. That song rocks. I can't see any of their moms doing that.

e) snoring at work..sigh. Just went sleeping in a chair leaning back or all the time at home too? Must investigate.
